“How are things at Lone Wolf?” Jonah rolled over in bed and gave me a sleepy smile as I got off the phone with the bar manager I’d hired earlier in the week. “They getting along okay without us?”

I smiled and pulled him back into my arms. “Just fine.”

Jonah had wanted to go into work yesterday, but I wasn’t sure how he would handle working the busy Saturday crowd while still in heat, so I’d called in the part-time bartender, Ferriss, and had him cover the weekend. The manager said everything was going smoothly.

“We have better things to do than worry about work right now,” I murmured while trailing kisses down his neck. This is how we’d spent the weekend. Mostly in bed. And somehow, I still didn’t feel like I’d gotten enough of him.

On the way here, we’d stopped to buy some condoms, and Jonah had explained his heat, and why he wasn’t on suppressors. It just hadn’t occurred to him considering he’d never had one before. He’d also told me that was why he’d remained a virgin, something I was insanely honored to have been given. To have been his first.

Just as I rolled him to his back and positioned myself over him, a loud rumbling distracted me.

I chuckled. “Hungry?”

He grinned. “Maybe a little. I think we’ve worked up quite an appetite.”

It was late morning on Sunday, and we’d taken our time greeting the day with slow, lazy sex. I was ready to go again but thought maybe I ought to see what I could scrounge up for brunch.

“Come on,” I said, forcing myself out of my bed and pulling him up after me. “Let’s eat.”

We padded from my bedroom to the kitchen, Jonah staying close to me so I felt the occasional brush of his skin against mine. I nearly turned around twice and dragged him back to bed, but I said I’d take care of him, and that meant feeding him.

When I checked the fridge and pantry, I found there wasn’t much left. “Do you want to go out and get something?”

“Nah, then we’d have to put clothes on,” Jonah said with a smirk. “Let me see what you’ve got.”

He pulled some eggs out of the fridge and found enough ingredients to whip up some pancake batter.

“You like cooking?” I asked as he got to work, refusing my offer to help. Not that I’d be much help, anyway. I wasn’t very good in the kitchen.

“I’ve picked up a thing or two from my sister,” he said, focused on mixing the batter. My eyes were focused on his ass.

This was the first time I’d ever brought someone home to spend the weekend with me. I liked seeing him here, in my kitchen, making himself right at home.

When he set a stack of pancakes and a bowl of scrambled eggs on the table, we dug right in.

“So.” He didn’t meet my eyes. “I should probably get going in a bit.”

“No rush.” I wasn’t ready for him to leave.

He glanced up at me.
